Daniel Yantis, one of Troy's oldest and most respected citizens died Saturday morning from a complication of diseases from which he had been suffering for several years. The deceased was a native of this county, having been born in Elizabeth Township in 1813 and for more than fifty years had a blacksmith shop on Market Street where M. M. Meadows is now located. He was twice married, in 1844 to Elizabeth Haskett, by whom he had twelve children, and again in 1868 to Elizabeth Everett. Six children were born to the second union, of whom four and the widow survive. The funeral services were held at the residence on Water Street, Sunday afternoon and the remains were taken to Rose Hill for interment.
