Death called Mr. Joseph G Wolcott from his home west of Conover, last evening at 8:30 o'clock. Mr. Wolcott was 68 years of age having been born near Conover, January 7, 1851. He attended school near there and afterward went to Dayton when he reached the age of 21 to attend a business school. In 1833, he entered the grain business, forming the firm of Brecount, Wolcott and Co, with which firm he remained for the period of 35 years, retiring from the active business June 18, 1918. He was also a director of the Citizens National Bank, of Piqua, serving in that capacity for ten years. Mr. Wolcott had been suffering for about three years from the cancer of the stomach until death came to relieve his suffering last evening. He was an active member of the F&AM, a thirty second degree Mason, and a Knight Templar. As an attentive member of the Baptist church of Lena, Mr. Wolcott will be greatly missed. He was widely known and honored by all in this section of the country and his business abilities and honesty gained the profound respect of all those who were associated with him in the business world. His widow and two sons, Mr. Rodger Wolcott of Lena, and Mr. Carl Wolcott of Muncie, Indiana survive him. The funeral services will be held at the late residence at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
