Hollie M. Williams
Hollie M. Williams was born west of Covington, April 30th, 1872, a child of A.J. and Mary Williams, with the exception of the recent years spent in Piqua, Mr. Williams resided in and around Covington. He was united in marriage to Mary Belle Hoover, Aug. 1891, to which union were born four children: Mrs. Helen Brumbaugh, Mrs. Lucille Metzger, Dwight Williams, of Covington, and Charles Williams of Piqua. He was engaged in mail and transfer business in Covington, and six years ago he took the contract for transferring the mails in Piqua, in which city he and Mrs. Williams have lived. Mr. Williams was well known and liked by an unusually large number of friends and acquaintances. He was member of the fraternal order of Eagles, in Piqua, and of the Imperial Order of Red Men, in Covington. Early in life he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Bradford, O. Mr. Williams was a man devoted to his family, to whom he always gave loving thought; and an optimist and joyous example of a home loving husband and father. One of the manifestations of his thoughtful life in behalf of others was his unlimited appreciation for and devotion to the aged parents of Mrs. Williams. Innumerable were the instances of his loving kindness toward this aged couple, who were indeed a real father and mother to him. Mr. Williams had been in his usual health to the Tuesday before his death, when he was very likely taken with a light stroke that affected him for but a short time. On Thursday morning early he was discovered to be suffering from a severe attack of paralysis and in spite of all efforts in his behalf, passed on the future life, Saturday afternoon, without regaining his speech. A friend of many and a lover of home has slipped away, while yet in the midst of life, to await the coming of the others to whom his devotion has meant so much. Beside the father, mother, wife and children, three brothers survive: Albert of Covington, Elmer Piqua, Isaac of Portland, Oregon. Three sisters who have pass on before are Ida, Mina, Susie and one brother. He also leaves to mourn his loss seven beloved grandchildren. We desire to express our sincere and grateful appreciation to the dear friends who gave machines and beautiful flowers and other assistance during our darkest hour of sadness, also to the Presbyterian Church singers and lodge brothers. Mrs. H. M. Williams and family. Those attending the funeral services from a distance were: Mr. W. C. Hoover, Cincinnati, Elmer Griffis, DeGraff, Grant Furnas St. Paris: Miss Murta Griffis, Fletcher; Will Moore, Fletcher; Mrs. John Haack. Mrs. Anna Davis, Mrs. Nan Norris and niece of Troy; Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Reck, Greenville; Mrs. Ida Griffis Sidney and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brandon Greenville.
