Miami Union
5 April 1900
Mrs. Jane Hayner, who died at the home of Mrs. Sarah Dickey, in Dayton last Saturday, was the daughter of John C. and Eliza Dye, and was born in Miami County March 31, 1835. In 1860 she was married to Lewis Hayner, whose death she survived many years. Two sisters, Mrs. Carver and Mrs. Coleman, and one brother, Thomas Dye, survive her. Her passing away is mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends to whom she was greatly endeared by her many lovable qualities. Early in youth she became a member of the Baptist Church and her abiding faith was manifested through a long and useful life. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, and the remains laid away in Riverside Cemetery, her pastor, Rev. R. E. Carney, conducting the sad rites.
