Margaret Ward, daughter of David and Elizabeth Ward, was born in Montgomery County Ohio, January 20th 1808. She was a "Mother in Israel," and her excellent qualities were manifested all through her life. She was a firm believer in the Christian religion and was always active in its defense. She was always at her place for worship when able to attend; her benevolent qualities were shown by her presence and her means. While afflictions were preying heavily upon her, she would ask her children, if they were tired, and bid them rest, forgetting her own suffering. She was a model woman in her home and her teachings were instrumental in making them useful in life. We bid her goodbye and look back on a life which was constantly giving blessings to all with whom she mingled. We look forward to the time when we shall bid her good morning in the works of bliss. She was the mother of nine children, thirty-nine grandchildren, ninety-four great-grandchildren, and nine great- great-grandchildren. She died February 22, 1900, aged ninety-two years. The funeral service were held at the Friends Church at Ludlow Falls, conducted by Enos Pemberton.
