Joshua Routzan
Joshua Routzan was born near Middletown, Franklin County Maryland, October 31 1832, and died at his home on east Franklin Street, of necralgia of the heart Saturday morning. He had been a resident of Miami County for forty-five years, having came to Ohio in 1855.
In 1857 he was married to Miss Harriet Odaffer. For thirty- five years he lived upon his farm near Casstown, and for the past seven years he had lived a retired life in Troy. He leaves his wife and only daughter, Mrs. J. H. Fross, three grandchildren, a brother in West Lebanon Indiana, and several brothers in Maryland, besides a large circle of friends to morn his sudden departure.
He was an honorable member of the 147th O. V .I. He was a consistent follower of the lowly Nazaeine from his youth; an elder in the Main Street Lutheran Church, where his presence and help will be greatly missed.
The funeral Services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the church. Rev. Weaver preached from the text; 1 Kings, 7:22. His theme was, "The strength and beauty of Christian character" Rev. Carnry assisted in the services. The internment was at Riverside.
