Mrs. E. S. Mohler
One of the most sudden as well as one of the saddest deaths that ever occurred in this community, was that of Mrs. E. S. Mohler (nee Alice Cable) last Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Mohler has gone to the home of her mother, Mrs. Jacob Cable, to spend the afternoon. Just as they were leaving the homestead, Mr. Mohler got out of the buggy to open a gate, handing his wife the lines. In a moment he heard her say -- "Oh my head! take the lines" -- Hastening to her side, Mr. Mohler lifted her from the buggy and assisted her to the house, and before medical aid could be summoned, she had passed away. Word was at once brought to town and the sad news cast a sudden gloom over the entire community, as Mrs. Mohler was respected and had hosts of friends.
The funeral services were held in the Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon. The church was filled to its fullest capacity by the friends and relatives of the deceased. Revs. Reynolds and Boggs officiating.
Mrs. Mohler leaves a kind and affectionate husband, four small children and numerous relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The interment was in the Highland Cemetery.
