William Clint Williams
William Clint Williams was born on the 9th of February, 1852 and departed this life at this home in Covington, O. March 25, 1928 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 16 days. He was the only son of William and Elizabeth William and great grandson of Michael Williams, Sr., who was born in Wales and one of the first settlers in Miami County, O. He settled near Pleasant Hill, having come to this country in 1734. He served throughout the revolutionary war under General George Washington, going through loyally siding in the struggle for independence.
Mr. Williams was one of a family of six children. Five sisters have all preceded him to the land of eternal rest. On the twenty- ninth of November 1877 he was united in marriage with Minerva Grubb. To this union was born one son, Edward G. Williams of Dayton, Ohio.
Mr Williams was charter member of Guiding Star Lodge No. 347, Knights of Pythias, instituted May 29, 1889 at Bradford, Ohio and became a member of Stillwater Lodge 233, Covington Oct. 14, 1907. At that time he took great interest in the work, being Chancellor Commander from July 1910 to January 1911 and at all times carried out that great principle upon which the order is founded, the Friendship of Damon and Pythias. Mr. Williams was also a member of the Piqua Tribe No.233 Improved Order of Red Men, where he will be missed. Mr. Williams was much interested in the work and rejoiced in every opportunity to co-operate with his brethren wherever and whenever calls and opportunities presented themselves.
He has always lived near and in Covington. For the last thirty- seven years he has lived in this town which he so much loved.
Mr. Williams was highly respected for his fine character and had endeared himself to a large circle of friends He leaves to mourn his departure this wife who has been his life long companion. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 29, 1927.
He is also survived by his son Edward G. Williams, besides a large of friends and neighbors.
Father gone, but not forgotten Never shall his memory fade.
William was buried in the Highland Cemetery at Covington.
