Mrs. Anna Carey
On a farm northwest of Pleasant Hill, on December 17, 1849 Anna Reiber was born. She came to bless the home of Peter and Catherine Reiber. The Lord gave her a long and eventful life which was peacefully closed on the evening of March 29th, 1928, the book of her life being written during a period of 79 years, 3 months and 12 days.
On April 16th, 1867, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Carey, who passed away on December 3, 1913. To this union eight children were given, two daughters, Martha and Nancy have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Carey and her husband were charter members of the Brethren Church, always regular in attendance and true to the faith they professed.
Mrs. Carey leaves one brother Mr. Henry Reiber of Kokomo, Ind. one sister, Maroline Martin of Covington, three daughters, Mrs. Caroline Agne, of Troy, Mrs. Emma Laughman of Piqua, Catherine Kreiger of Dayton, and three sons, Warren of Sidney, Henry of Troy, and Forrest of Pleasant Hill. There are also 29 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren who remain with a wide circle of friends to mourn her departure.
