Mrs. Suzannah Routson Dies At Age of 85
Mrs. Suzannah Routson, 85 years old, passed away Saturday morning at 6:30 of senile debility.
Funeral services were conducted this morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Lutheran Church at Bloomer and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. Those who survive are a son, Serenas Routson of Kalamazoo, Mich. five daughters Mrs. Glenna Rhoades with whom she resided at the time of death, Mrs. Homer Buchanan of Covington, Mrs. Otto Buchanan of West Milton and Mrs. Elizabeth Schmidlapp of Dayton and a sister, Mrs. Molly Shearer who resides with Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Rhoades also of Covington.

Susanna Routson
Susanna Routson, the subject of this sketch, was born Jan. 14, 1845, on a farm adjoining the old homestead, and departed this life April 19, 1930, having reached the advanced age of 85 years, 3 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Henry A. Routson, Feb. 14, 1867, by the Rev. J. G. Shaffer. To this union was born two sons and six daughters. She was preceded in death by her life companion, one son, who died in infancy, and one daughter, Mrs. Angle Fry, who died at the age of 53 years.
Those remaining to mourn her departure are Fernandus O. of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Della Buchanan of West Milton, O., Mrs. Elizabeth Schmidlapp of Dayton, O., Mrs. Olive Buchanan, Mrs. Ada Buchanan and Mrs. Glenna Rhoades of Covington, O., also 23 grandchildren.
She was baptized in infancy, confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age, and was ever faithful in attendance at divine worship throughout the remainder of her life until prevented by failing strength.
Mrs. Routson was the daughter of George and Pauline Schaffer and is survived by only her sister Mrs. Mollie Shearer of Covington. One half brother, Rev. J. G. Schaffer, and two half sisters, Mrs. Isaac Hursh and Mrs. William Routson, having preceded her in death.
Her suffering and death came near the anniversary of the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord, in whom she trusted for her resurrection, and it is thus that our sorrow is turned into joy.
"Oh the beautiful faith of our Mother,
It is founded on God's book divine,
May its life giving light with its power and might
On our pathways forever shine."
The family wishes to thank the neighbors and friends for their help during the sickness and death of their mother, also for the beautiful flowers, and many expressions of sympathy.

Snow and daughter Frances Ellen of Lima, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schmidlapp and children John and Mary Ann of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Elizabeth Schmidlapp, Mrs. Charlotte Leach, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ortman, Mrs. Elizabeth Kistler, Mrs. Bessie Blackburn and son, Mrs. Anna Shank, Mrs. Nina Hayes of Dayton, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Routson of Vandalia, Mrs. O. L. Buchanan, Miss Dorothy Hayes of West Milton, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Morloch and son Burddie, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fry and son Tom, Miss Carrie McCoy, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Fry, Rev. Lunan, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Rhoades and Miss Fern Rhoades, Mrs. Callie Enery and Mrs. John Hammond of Piqua.
