John Henry Moore, a retired farmer of Christiansburg died at the home of the Mrs. Kingsley Kirk, Monday, September 17, at 11:30, at the age of 84 years. Mr. Kirk was a nephew of the deceased.
Mr. Moore had spent the greater part of the morning in the garden and had remarked that he would lie down and rest for a while. On being called for the noon meal it was found that he had passed away.
Mr. Moore was born in Lost Creek township, Miami county. He was the youngest of three children born to Philip and Rebecca Shott Moore. His brother George and sister Miss Sarah, residents of this place, were killed at the High street railroad crossing some ten years ago.
The nearest surviving relatives are three nieces: Mrs. Rose Gabriel, Mrs. Kingsley Kirk of Christiansburg, Mrs. Clara Oake, Tippecanoe City; two nephews: John Moore of Piqua and Marcellus Mitchell of Muncie, Ind. The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C.M. Bragg of the M. E. church having charge. Burial was made at Casstown with Bert R. Richeson in charge.
