Ralph Leslie Heiserman
Ralph Leslie Heiserman, son of Aaron and Maria
Heiserman, was born at Urbana, Ohio, May 4, 1883. He was married 26 years ago
this September and became the father of two daughters Mrs. Harriet Tobias of
Springfield, Ohio and Miss Virginia Heiserman of Covington.
Mr. Heiserman came to our city in 1917 as station
master for the Pennsylvania R. R. and after 10 years of faithful service in
that capacity was promoted to the position of traveling freight agent, which
place he held at the time of his death.
Shortly after coming to town Mr. and Mrs.
Heiserman bought certificates of membership from another church and united
with the Presbyterian Church of Covington.
Mr. Heiserman was an ardent Mason, having taken
several of the highest degrees and being past master of the local lodge.
About 4 months ago he was compelled, because of
ill health, to secure a temporary leave of absence from his work. The
expected improvement did not come, indeed he grew rapidly worse and though he
was filled with high hope and splendid courage the end came on Friday, August
28 about 11 P. M. at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Of the near relatives who are left to mourn his
early departure there are (besides his wife and two daughters) two brothers C.
B. Heiserman of Philadelphia, Pa., E. S. Heiserman of Springfield, Ohio and
one sister, Mrs. H. M. Gear of Marion, Ind.
A host of friends will grieve to know
that the jovial generous spirit has gone. The funeral was held at 2:00 o'clock Monday
afternoon, August 31 at the Presbyterian Church in Covington, conducted by the
pastor and the Masonic lodge. Interment was in the family lot in the cemetery
at Urbana, Ohio, and the last rites at the grave were administered by his
brother Masons.
