Arthur L. Yenney, 84, retired grocer, dies
Arthur L. Yenney, 84, of 415 W. Ash, died Saturday at 9:20 p.m. in Piqua
Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 14.
He had been ill one year. Born
in Piqua, Aug. 5, 1890, he was a son of John and Ella Ingle Yenney.
He lived in Piqua all his life and attended Piqua schools.
He was graduated from Piqua High School in 1909. He
attended the University of Pennsylvania business school.
He was married to Lorma Strasburg in Lima in 1914.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Piqua Elks Lodge. At
his fathers death he took over operation of the Yenney Co., retiring in 1960
after 50 years in the wholesale and retail grocery business. Surviving
him are his wife, a son, Donald, Piqua; three granddaughters, Mrs. Roman Plichta
(Barbara), Champaign, Ill.; Mary Lou Yenney, and Thomas Yenney, Piqua; and a
sister Mrs. Harvey Stratton (Dorothy), Mesa, Ariz.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral
services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Melcher Funeral Home by Dr.
Robert Clark. Burial will be in
Miami Memorial Park, Covington.
Friends may call at the Melcher Funeral Home from 4 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
today. Elks service will be at 7:30
p.m. tonight.
