Troy Times - Veteran - 3d Iowa Cavalry

January 21, 1864

FAUQUIER, EPHRAIM - On the 2d day of December 1863, in Benton, Arkansas, of fever, Ephraim Fauquier, a member of the 3d Iowa Cavalry. He was a native of this State and a resident of this county for thirty years. He moved to Keokuk, Iowa, some few years ago and when the war broke out, enlisted as a private and gave his life for his country. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, and brave soldier. Peace to his slumbers. He leaves a wife and three small children who reside in Keokuk, to mourn his loss. "He has fought his last battle."
