McLEAN, WM. (WILLIAM) ESQ. - Died--At his late residence, on Fifth
street, at 3 o'clock, on the morning of the 12th inst., of Pulmonary
consumption, Wm. McLean, Esq. Mr. McLean was born in Mason county, Ky., on
the 10th of August, 1794. At an early age he removed with his parents to
Warren county, Ohio. With great energy and perseverance, he prepared
himself under the tuition of his brother, (Hon. Judge McLean,) and was admitted
to the bar at the age of twenty-one years. He has subsequently filled the
responsible duties of Receiver of public monies at Piqua, Ohio; member of
Congress for the Fifth district, for six years, and more recently a merchant in
Cincinnati, of the house of Reeves & McLean. At the age of sixteen
years he attached himself to the Methodist Episcopal Church, in which he has
been a faithful member ever since. Dying, as he lived, full of the hope of
immortal life beyond the grave, he has taken from the good man the sting of his
loss, in the assurance that he is now with his God.--Cin. News
