HART, MRS. ELIZABETH GREEN - On the 16th of April, Mrs. Elizabeth Green Hart, aged 65 years. She was the widow of the late Zenas Hart, who died Nov. 15th 1844. They came to the West from New Jersey, with our earliest settlers in 1815, and have lived at the family homestead, since 1816. They were never called to bury a child; and all their seven children, (the youngest, 25 years) were permitted to be present together, and follow their remains to the resting place of the dead. Mrs. Hart united with the Christian Church, in 1827, and for a long time previous to her death, she seemed to take much pleasure in the thought that she was a pilgrim, and a stranger on the earth, looking "for a city, which hath foundations whose builder and maker is God." She has left to her numerous and bereaved family, the consoling faith, that their temporary loss is her eternal gain.
