Troy Times

June 12, 1839 

McBRIDE, JOHN - We understand that the body of John McBride, was found drowned in the Miami river, about six miles below Troy.  It is supposed, that in attempting to cross the river, being somewhat intoxicated, he fell from his horse and thus lost his life.  He was a man of family and advanced in years.  The coroner being absent no inquest was held.
