COTTINGHAM, JAMES - September 21st, at his residence, three miles north of Troy, Mr. James Cottingham, aged 54 years. Mr. Cottingham was born in Kentucky, April 3d, 1800, and removed to this State when a small boy, and has resided in this place and vicinity for more than thirty years. Retiring and quiet in his habits, he was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He embraced religion and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church about the year 1834-5, of which he was a consistent member until the time of his death; and though his friends mourn his loss, he left assurance that if the earthly tabernacle were dissolved, he had a building of God, not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
