McCULLOUGH, ALEXANDER - Died, October 14th, 1857, at his residence near Troy, Mr. Alexander McCullough, in the 88th year of his age. Mr. McCullough emigrated from Kentucky to Ohio, and settled on the farm where he resided at the time of his death, in 1806, fifty-one years ago, and before the organization of the county. In all the important relations of life, as father, husband, citizen, and Christian, he enjoyed the highest degree of confidence by those who knew him best; and by his decided and uniform deportment through life, recommended to others that religion which he himself professed. He became a subject of divine grace during what is known as the great revival in Kentucky, in 1801; and at that time attached himself to the Christian Church, of which he lived and died a consistent member. At a meeting of his family at the old homestead, on the 20th of August last, he enjoyed the privilege of exchanging congratulations with every member now living, with one exception, including children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, including four generations, and numbering in all sixty eight, besides twelve others who were intimately connected with the different members of the family by intermarriage--in all eighty persons. G.
