VETERAN IS TO BE LAID TO HIS REST

Service for Thomas J. Wolfe to be Held at Forest Hill On Friday Afternoon.

The funeral of Thomas J. Wolfe, a Civil War veteran, will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the Forest Hill cemetery chapel.  The service will be in charge of the members of Alexander-Mitchel post, G. A. R.   Mr. Wolfe was until about one year ago a resident of this city.  Because of his advanced age, 91 years, and suffering from the infirmities of age he went to Dayton and entered the home maintained by the national government for disabled volunteer soldiers.  In the Civil war he served in Company I, 15th Indiana Volunteers.  He was a member of Alexander-Mitchel G.A.R. post.  He died Wednesday. Surviving the deceased veteran are his four sons, Thomas J. Wolfe, Connersville, Ind., Emmitt Wolfe, Dayton, Charles Wolfe, Indianapolis, Bert Wolfe, Hamilton.

 ‘TAPS” ANSWERED BY 25 VETERANS

During 1919 twenty-five veterans of the civil war, all members of the Piqua G. A. R. post answered the final call of taps.  The comrades who passed on and who are sadly missed by their surviving veterans are. William M. Whitman, Alexander Denman, Augustus Colins; W.B. Mitchel; S. Rodebaugh; Peter Jones; C. Searkins; Wm. Dalton; George H. Cruse; J. E. Wilkinson; J. W. Robinson; Albin Thoma; W. D. Snyder; W. C. Coy; Thos. J. Wolfe; Thomas R. Thopson; Sylvester DeWeese; L. S. Bablyon; R. O. Edwards; W. W. Turk; Daniel Aukt; John Scott; George Semas; J. B. McFarland and J. W. Patterson.
