GREEN, THOMAS - Thomas Green, 64, one of the best known colored men of Troy, died Tuesday after an illness lasting several months.  For 21 years he was employed at Hayner's distillery, had a wide acquaintance and was well liked.  He was born in slavery days in Lincoln county, Tenn.  He came north after the war and finally to Troy where he married Martha Williams.  He is survived by his wife, five children, a sister and a brother.  He was a member of Richards Chapel church where the funeral was held Thursday afternoon.
