D. Hennessey, 69, Former Contractor, Dies
Thomas D. Hennessey, 69, of Troy, former Piqua Contractor, died at 6 a.m. today at Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy, where he was admitted July 31. Born in Troy, April 10, 1894, he was the son of James and Bridget Hennessey. He came to Piqua with his parents when he was a child, attended St. Mary Grade School and Piqua Central High School. He graduated from University of Dayton in 1913. He lived in Piqua until nine years ago when he returned to Troy. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James Rowe (Eleanor) of Dayton, Mrs. Harold Vail (Dorothy) of Springfield and Mrs. James Webster (Eileen) of Piqua; three sons, Richard and Daniel, both of Piqua, and William of Troy; two brothers, David and William Hennessey, both of Piqua; a sister, Sister Mary Charlotte (Elizabeth) of the Sisters of Notre Dame, Toledo; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The Rev. Fr. Robert Von Kaenel will intone the Requiem High Mass at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Melcher Funeral Home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Men of St. Mary Parish will meet at the funeral home for Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday.
