The Reveille
July 31, 1846
McNULTY, CALEB J. - Death of Caleb J. McNulty - The clerk of the steamer Jamestown, writes from "above Memphis on Sunday night 12th July," as follows: "So far we have got along very well. We have a very orderly and well behaved set of men. As yet we have had no trouble or difficulty with any of them. McNulty died this afternoon near Plum Point.--He had been unwell from the time we left Cincinnati. The company of which he is a member, intend burying him either at Memphis or Helena. The regiment (Colonel Morgan's) expect to arrive at New Orleans on Thursday, July 16."
The above intelligence will be received by thousands of hearts in Ohio, with an emotion of sadness. Poor Mac!--Cin. Enquirer.
