COVAULT, SYLVESTER - The death of Sylvester Covault occurred Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at his residence west of Sidney following a nine weeks illness of apoplexy. He was born July 5, 1847, and he was married to Miss Amanda Mathias, February 6, 18__, and to this union were born nine children. Mrs. Covault preceded her husband in death three years ago, as have also three children. The surviving children are Mrs. Jennie Fry of West Liberty, Mrs. Cliff Wagoner of Sidney, Mrs. E. Whitman and Mrs. Fay Slaybaugh of Turtle Creek township, Shelby county, Mrs. Mary Parke of Piqua and one son, Ben Covault of Cynthian township, Shelby county. There are also living three brothers and two sisters. They are twenty-three grandchildren. Fifteen years ago he united with the United Brethren church at New Hope. The funeral services were held from the late residence Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and interment in Graceland cemetery.
