WEBB, SUSAN
SHROYER - Last rites were held on Tuesday,
January 10 for Mrs. Susan Shroyer Webb, 85, who died in the Belle Manor nursing
home in New Carlisle on Friday, January 6. The Reverend David Anderson,
pastor of the Brandt Lutheran church, officiated at the service at 1 p.m. in the
Trostel-Chapman funeral home. Burial was in the New Carlisle cemetery.
Mrs. Webb, the daughter of Oscar and Viola Mouk Shroyer, was born in Miami
County and lived most of her life at the family homestead, 6824 South State
Route 201, Tipp City. She lived recently at the Belle Manor home. A
retired teacher, she taught her first classes at Black's district school on
Palmer road. Mae Pottenger Houser was the only first grader in the first
classes taught by Mrs. Webb. She later taught for many years in the Mad River
school system. Mrs. Webb is survived by her husband, Charles; one brother,
Robert of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
