CROMES, SARAH - Phoneton--Sarah Cromes, aged 68 years, died at the old Cushwa homestead Thursday, July 21.  The cause of her death was paralysis she being ill only two days.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cushwa and was born on the same place as where she passed away.  In 1859 she was married to W. H. Cromes, who died several years ago.  She is survived by seven sons, two daughters and 16 grandchildren.  Of her own family there were nine children of whom only four are now living, two brothers and two sisters.  Mrs. Cromes was a member of the Dunkard church.  The funeral was held at West Charleston and was conducted by Rev. Coppock.  Interment was made at Bethel cemetery.
