REDDICK, SAMUEL - West
Milton--The death of Samuel Reddick occurred Monday at 8 o'clock after a
lingering illness caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Reddick was 81
years of age and was a veteran of the Civil war. He enlisted in the
Forty-fourth Ohio infantry in August, 1861, at old Camp Clark, Springfield, O.,
under command of General Crook, and remained in this regiment two years and a
half. He was in the siege of Knoxville, 1863; battle of Lewisburg, Va.,
1862, and in many other engagements. The funeral was held Wednesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Christian church and was in charge of Old Guard
Post of Dayton, of which the deceased man was a member. Interment was made
in Riverside cemetery. Mr. Reddick is survived by a wife and one son.
