MELKE, RUTH A. - Private family services for Ruth A. (Roemhildt) Melke, 96, were held at the Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home, Tipp City.  Mrs. Melke, a native of Dayton, died March 13 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, following a short illness.  She had been a Bethel Township, Miami County, resident 35 years.  She was a graduate of Steele High School and the Dayton Art Institute.  She was a charter member of the Tippecanoe Senior Citizens and Valley Arts & Crafts, Tipp City, and the Merrymakers Club, Kettering.  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert El Segundo (Norma Jean Hayos) of California and Mrs. William Walters (Harriette) of Bethel Township, with whom she resided; six grandchildren, Linda Minard and Richard Geithman, both of California, Karen Watts of Texas, Jody Schelb of Minnesota, Steven Walters of Tipp City, and Donald Walters of Piqua; and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Melke, in 1958 and her parents, Emil and Ida Roemhildt.
