JONES, RHODA - Ludlow Falls--Rhoda Jones died Saturday, July 30, at 3 a.m. near Modoc, Ind.  Death was due to a complication of diseases and the infirmities of old age.  She was born Dec. 25, 1826, about three miles northwest of Ludlow Falls and was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Coate.  She was united in marriage with Samuel Jones and ten children were born to this union three of whom survive.  They are Henry Jones of Mexico, Roswell Jones of Minnesota and L. W. Jones of Columbus.  She was a minister of the Friends church about forty years and was always loyal and devoted to the church of her choice.  For several years she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Jessup and it was there her death occurred.  The body was brought here Sunday and taken to the home of her nephew, Mark Jones.  The funeral services were held from the Ludlow Falls Friends church, Sunday at 2 p.m. and were conducted by the Rev. Robert Douglas of Versailles.  Music was furnished by a quartet of mixed voices.  There were present one son, Lambert W. Jones of Columbus, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law and five grandchildren.  Interment was made at Union cemetery west of town.  The relatives were entertained at the home of H. O. Miles during the day.  Those present from a distance were Lambert W. Jones, Mrs. Samuel Jones and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Jones and Mrs. Nellie McKinley of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Jessup and daughter of Modoc, Ind., and Mrs. Hobson and son of Phillipsburg.
