JANVIER, MRS. SARAH - One of Troy's most venerable and respected women, one of whom the city has long been proud is gone.  Mrs. Sarah Janvier passed away Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ellen McKinney.  She had been ill as the result of a fall about eight weeks ago when she sustained a broken hip.  She lacked but two months of being 95 years of age.  Mrs. Janvier was born at West Carrolton on January 21, 1817, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Harrison.  Her husband, the late J. T. Janvier, to whom she was married April 18, 1839, was one of the leading attorneys of Miami county.  He died in 1874.  The family removed to Troy from Piqua in 1856 and since that time this city has been their home.  A son and four daughters, survive, William N. Janvier of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Dan Smith, Mrs. Anna Skinner, Mrs. Charles Riley and Mrs. Ellen McKinney.  All the children had the privilege of being at the bedside of their mother when she passed away.  Walter Janvier, a son, who resided, in New York City, died last January.  Mrs. Janvier was a member of the Presbyterian church and in her younger years was one of its most active and interested members.  The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. McKinney at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Dunaway in charge, and burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
