RHOADES, MRS. MATILDA - Mrs. Matilda Rhoades, one of the pioneer residents of Bloomer, died at that place Monday morning after a short illness. She was 76 years old, and had lived in Bloomer nearly all her life. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment in the church cemetery.

RHOADES, MRS. MATILDA - Mrs. Matilda Rhoades, widow of the late George Rhoades, died on November 13th, at Bloomer of tumorous cancer of the liver and gall stones. For years Mr. and Mrs. Rhoades resided on what is now the Ora Martin farm southwest of Houston, going to Bloomer following the death of her husband two years ago. The maiden name of Mrs. Rhoades was Edsman and she was born in Montgomery county, October 26, 1835. She was married to Mr. Rhoades at the age of eighteen. For over half a century she was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church. The deceased was the mother of nine children, four sons, John, William, George and Peter; and five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Voisard, Mrs. William Moher, Mrs. Henry D. Apple, Mrs. William Oda, and Mrs. Ora Martin. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, November 15th, from the Friedens Lutheran church, near Bloomer. Interment in Harris Creek cemetery.
