MARTIN, MRS. MARGARET ANN - Frogpond--Mrs. Margaret Ann Martin, the estimable wife of Thomas Martin, died at their home on South Main avenue, Sidney, Sunday afternoon shortly before three o'clock, after a short illness.  She had been in failing health for some time but was able to be up and around until Friday.  She was taken seriously ill Friday and sank rapidly to her death Sunday afternoon.  Margaret Ann Martin was the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth M. Linn and was born in Orange township, Shelby county, Sept. 27, 1840, and resided in that township all her life until she and her husband moved to Sidney about four years ago.  She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Martin in 1859, Rev. W. B. Spencer the pastor of the Presbyterian church here officiating.  To this union were born six children all of whom are living except the oldest, John A., who died in infancy.  The children are William T., Charles E., Clara B. Hunt, Hubert M. and Geo. R., all residing in Shelby county.  Of the sisters and brothers Mrs. Sarah Wright died a number of years ago and those living are William Linn, Sidney, Walter Linn, Dayton, Mrs. Lydia Reynolds, Keokuk, Iowa, Mrs. Elmira Rauth, Wapakoneta, Mrs. Laura Eldridge and Mrs. Jane Martin of Green township.  The funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from her late home and were conducted by Rev. Charlton.  Interment in Graceland cemetery, Sidney.
