WHITEMAN, MRS. JANE - Mrs. Jane Whiteman, 85, died Thursday evening about 5 o'clock at the home of her niece, Mrs. Mervin Burke, on Race street.  She had been ill for several months, death coming as a result of the infirmities incident to old age.  She was born in Bedford county, Pa., May 11, 1825, and at the age of nine years was brought by her parents to Tuscarawas county, Ohio.  She was united in marriage with Alexander Whiteman, who died about 20 years ago.  They soon came to Miami county and for 56 years Mrs. Whiteman lived on the same lot on which she died.  She was an active Christian worker and was a member of the Christian church.
