MARTINDALE, MRS. ELIZABETH - Mrs. Elizabeth Martindale, widow of Frank W. Martindale, died Sunday morning at two o'clock at her late residence, south of West Milton on Covington pike.  Mrs. Martindale was 46 years old.  Her death had been expected for some time, as she had been critically ill for twelve weeks, following an operation.  She was in an unconscious state for several days preceding her death.  Mrs. Martindale was a member of one of the oldest and substantial pioneer families of Montgomery county, being one of the eight children of Jacob and Magdalena Simons Knecht, who own farm and fruit lands along the Covington pike, just north of Dayton.  The marriage of Elizabeth Knecht and Frank W. Martindale occurred in 1888.  Mrs. Martindale was also one of a well to do family of pioneers of the county.  His death occurred in 1902.  Mrs. Martindale was the mother of two children, Mamie and Charley, the former of whom died in early childhood.  Two brothers and two sisters survive.  They are John, Charley, Katie and Susie Knecht, all of whom reside in the country north of Dayton.  Funeral services were conducted at the late residence Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and services were held at 2 o'clock at Shiloh church, of which the woman was a member.  The body was buried in the Shiloh cemetery.
