MISSIGMAN, MRS. CHRISTENA EPTING - Center--Mrs. Christena Epting Missigman was born in Germany in the province of Wurtemberg, June 26th, 1824, and died December 29, 1910, aged 86 years, six months and three days.  She was united in marriage to Frederick Missigman in the year of 1856, emigrating to this country the same year and coming directly to West Charleston, stopping first in the home now occupied by J. W. Karns, and residing in this community until her death.  Mr. Missigman preceded her in death 12 years.  Early in life she was christened and later confirmed a member of the German Lutheran church to which she was a faithful member until death.  About six years ago she received injuries by a fall leaving her helpless.  In this helpless condition she developed day by day in that higher Christian life, each day growing more patient, kind and appreciative, thus endearing herself to everyone who came in contact with her daily life.  She died at the home of her son Fred, where she had lived since the death of her husband.  She leaves two sons, Frederick and John, and their companions, besides relatives and many friends to mourn her loss.  The funeral services were held at the Brethren church at West Charleston Sunday morning, Jan 1st, Rev. Jacob Coppock officiating.  Burial at West Charleston cemetery.  Text, Mark 14th chapter and 8th verse.
