Mrs. Mary Jones, widow of the late Peter Jones, pioneer resident of this city, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Anthony, 200 College street, last night at 11:00 o'clock, after an illness of ten days. Mrs. Jones had been in failing health since meeting with an accident two years ago when she fell and broke her hip.
The deceased was born in Piqua on September 8, 1847, and has resided in Piqua all her life. During her life time she was active in work at the Grace M. E. church, of which she was a member for most of her life. She leaves to mourn her death: one daughter, Mrs. John Anthony, one son, Mr. Bert M. Jones, of Oakland, California; and one sister, Mrs. Jerry Morrow of this city. She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. H.
V. McCleary will have charge of the services. Burial will be made at Forest Hill
cemetery.
