WEEKS, MISS MAMIE MARIE - Phoneton--Miss Mamie Marie Weeks died Friday morning, Feb. 2, at her home near here.  She had been in good health but had grieved much for her mother who died two weeks ago but it is not known just what was the cause of her death.  She was born near Liberty, Feb. 4, 1894 and was the daughter of Wm. W. and the late Katurah Weeks.  Mamie was beloved by all who knew her.  Her mother's death occurred but 18 days before and she left a baby boy two days old.  The young woman grieved greatly on account of her mother's death but undertook to be a little mother for her five younger brothers, the baby being taken by the father's sister.  She was a high school girl and would have been 18 years old Sunday last when she was to have been taken into the U. B. church at Vandalia.  She leaves her father, one sister, Margaret, and seven brothers, besides a host of friends.  After a short service at the home the funeral was held at the Vandalia U. B. church at 11:30 o'clock, Monday forenoon, Rev. Linebaugh officiated.  Interment in Poplar Grove cemetery, Vandalia.
