Miami Union

January 19, 1911

LINDERSMITH, MISS HARRIET - Miss Harriet Lindersmith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lindersmith of Troy, died at the Kinnane tuberculosis hospital in Springfield last Thursday evening after a several months heroic struggle with consumption.  Her death was one that brought real grief into the Miami Union office for three years and until her health interfered.  Miss Lindersmith was employed in this office and by her bright, cheerful, kindly disposition she made friends of everyone of her fellow-workers and employees and her death comes to each as a personal loss in addition to the shock caused by the passing of one who had been a typical personification of gay, happy, ambitious youth.  Miss Lindersmith was born in LaMourne, North Dakota, August 8, 1892, and came to Troy with her parents about six years ago.   Some three years ago she began work as a compositor in the Union office and until several months ago continued at that work.  She was taken ill last August and gradually became worse.  The first of December she was taken to the tuberculosis hospital but the disease had reached a stage where it could not be stayed and death came last Thursday.  The funeral, which was held at the English Lutheran church, of which she had been a most loyal member, took place Sunday afternoon with Rev. C. E. Paulus in charge of the service.  The church was filled with friends of the young woman manifesting the high esteem in which she was held.  Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
