Philip Cole

All the older citizens of Piqua were acquainted with "Phil Cole," as he was generally called. He came her with the Randolph people in 1840, they having been liberated by the will of Mr. Randolph who died in 1833. The deceased was born on the Randolph Plantation in Roanoke. In Sept. 1800, and was therefore, at the time of his death, which occurred March 27th, 90 years and 7 months. He died at the residence of his daughter in Sidney. Thus, one by one are the people of the Randolph colony passing away.
