HALE, MARY ANN - New Carlisle--Mary Ann ____ was born in Ross county, Ohio, Dec. 18, 1821, and died of infirmities of age, Feb. 7, 1912.  She was married to John Hale, April 3, 1847.  To this union were born seven children, five sons and two daughters, the husband and three sons having preceded her to the great beyond.  She leaves two sons, two daughters, one son being in Missouri and could not be at the funeral on account of ill health.  She was a member of the Christian church.  She was a great lover of home and family and she was always found at home.  Besides rearing her own children she gave a home to five of her grandchildren.  She was a great sufferer as she was partly deaf and almost blind for several years.  She was taken care of by her son John and daughter Emma as they always stayed at home with her.  The funeral was held at the house, Feb. 9, by Rev. Geo. Miranda.  Interment at New Carlisle cemetery.  She was the mother of your Wedgetown correspondent, Mrs. A. B. Courter.
