WAGNER, MARIETTA PHEBE - Marietta Phebe Wagner passed to the higher life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pearl E. Smith, Des Moines, Iowa, Nov. 26, 1911.  The deceased was the beloved daughter of Jefferson and Elizabeth Wright and the oldest sister of the late Judge C. D. Wright.  She was born July 29, 1846, on the old Wright homestead, near Troy, Ohio.  Before her marriage to Albert H. Wagner, now deceased, she was one of the successful teachers of Miami county and was beloved by all who knew her.  She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter.  She was married July 21, 1864, to Albert H. Wagner, while he was home on a furlough from the army.  To this union were born four children, Heber A. of Decatur, Ill., Jefferson I., of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Pearl E. Smith of Des Moines, Iowa, and Eugene V. of Sedalia, Mo., who were all at her funeral.  Besides her children she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Margaret H. Will of Washington, D. C. and Mrs. Sabie W. Black of LeRoy, Ill.  She was reared in the Universalist faith and was a life long believer in its beautiful doctrine.  She was a great sufferer for several years, bearing it with Christian fortitude and sublime patience never losing perfect faith and trust in God.  Her life was one of beauty and self-sacrifice, devoted to doing good to all who came within her realm.  She was laid to rest beside her husband at Springfield, Mo., Nov. 28, 1011, Rev. Mofflet officiating at the services.
