COATE, LAWRENCE ABIJAH - Lawrence Abijah Coate, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Coate of Pleasant Hill, was born April 27th, 1909, and died Nov. 13th, 1911.  Tho his stay on earth was so short, he made that time very pleasant for his parents and other relatives and in the years to come as they look back and think of the time he was with them, they will realize the truth of the saying that "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."  His love so entered the hearts of his little classmates at Sabbath School, that one was made to realize why Jesus said: "Suffer the little children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of heaven."  The parting is sad--so sad that only those who have gone through a like experience can realize its depths.  But God himself knows how sad--the one thought to remember is that the grave is but the path to heaven.  Funeral services were held from the parents' residence, Wednesday, afternoon, Rev. Enos Pemberton and Rev. Charles Ashman having charge of the services.  Interment was made at Pleasant Hill cemetery.  Parents and grandparents wish to thank their neighbors and friends for their assistance and sympathy in their sad bereavement.
