MANNING, JOSEPH - Mr. Joseph Manning, residing near West Milton, was so badly injured by the kick of a horse on Thursday morning, that he died in about twenty minutes. Mr. M. was a single man, between thirty and forty years of age and was the Democratic candidate for Auditor of this county, last fall, against the present incumbent, Dr. Tenney.

MANNING, JOSEPH W. - Obituary - West Milton, Ohio, May 27,
1872 - Joseph W. Manning, near this place, came to his death on yesterday
morning, the 16th, from the kick of a horse--dying within a few minutes after
the accident. Mr. M. was 38 years, 8 months and 27 days old. As an
evidence of the high esteem in which Mr. M. was held in this community, we
forward the following and ask its publication: At a meeting of the Teachers, and
the Village and Township Boards of Education, held at the Christian church on
this evening, William Jay was called to the chair, and M. F. Peirce appointed

MANNING, JOSEPH W. - Joseph W. Manning, of West Milton, came to his death, May 16, from the kick of a horse, in the meridian of life, 28 years. He was held in high esteem by his neighbors, and at a meeting of teachers and village & township boards of education, held on the 17th; (Wm. Jay in the chair, and M. F. Pierce secretary,) resolutions extolling his social and literary character were adopted.
