COST, JOSEPH -
Joseph Cost of Tipp City, who conducted a tailoring establishment in Troy on
West Main street a short time, acting as agent for a Chicago firm, died Friday
morning as a result of a dose of Paris green, said to have been taken Thursday
with suicidal intent. Cost lived at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs.
Rachel McConnaughey, where he died. It is said that he learned that his
mind was affected, or at least that he feared such was the case, and that he
would end his life in the asylum. He had been in poor health for several
months. He was about 50 years of age, and was an Odd Fellow. He
leaves no family. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock from
the residence and was private.
