MIKESELL, JOHN - Covington--The funeral of venerable John Mikesell, the oldest resident of this city, known as "Uncle John", who passed away Monday afternoon, was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. George W. Flory officiating.  Death came after an illness of several months, the result of a severe attack of pneumonia last winter and infirmities, having reached the advanced age of nearly 93 years.  He was a member of the Brethren church and always lived a consistent Christian life.  The surviving member of the family are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Miller of Dayton, Mrs. John Rapp, east of town and Mrs. William Swisher of this city and one son, Freidlich Mikesdell, north of town, 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.  Interment was in Highland cemetery.
