JONES, JOHN - Piqua--After a life of nearly 82 years, John Jones, the veteran dairyman, died about 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon at his home on the Piqua and Hardin pike, of paralysis. John Jones was born near Harrisburg, Pa., August 28, 1830. He came to Miami county in 1857 and settled on the farm on which he died. He engaged in farming until 1882 when he started a dairy. He continued in the milk business until his death, almost 30 years. Mr. Jones lost his wife about 19 years ago. He is survived by five children, three daughters and two sons. They are: Mrs. Josiah Wilkinson of Piqua, Mrs. John Compton near Piqua and Miss Laura Jones, who made her home with her father, William Jones and Henry Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Lockington M. E. church. The funeral services were held at the Jones home at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon. Interment at Forest Hill cemetery.
