Hunt, 67, a member of a well-known family, died at the county infirmary
Wednesday morning from a self-inflicted wound in the throat. Hunt cut his
throat Tuesday afternoon after he had assisted all day cutting seed potatoes.
After he had finished his work he got up and went out back of the power house,
where he sat down on an ash pile. After drawing the blade of his knife
across his throat he inserted it into the wound and twisted it around several
times. One of the infirmary inmates saw the deed and reported it to
Superintendent Sanders. Hunt admitted that he had inflicted the
wound, but gave no reason for the deed. Hunt with his wife had been an
inmate of the infirmary four weeks. The body was taken to
