HARTMAN, JACOB - Jacob Hartman, 71, a veteran of the civil war, died suddenly at 7:40 o'clock Saturday morning at his home on South Crawford street. He had __________________ some weeks but his condition was not considered alarming and his death was entirely unexpected. He is survived by the widow and five children by a former marriage, Charles Hartman, stationed in New York, being in the United States army. Jacob Hartman of Nebraska, John Hartman and William Hartman, of Piqua, Mrs. Harley Fry, of Piqua. A sister, Mrs. Leatha Barbour, resides in Canada, and a brother, Dr. S. D. Hartman, lives in Tipp City. For more than a quarter of a century Mr. Hartman was superintendent of Riverside cemetery. Just recently he had been conducting a restaurant near the C. H. & D. depot. Funeral services were held at the First M. E. church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Ferguson. Interment at Riverside.
