J. W. McMAKEN OF NEW VIENNA IS DEAD  

The many friends of J. W. McMaken will regret to learn of his death which occurred at his home in New Vienna Sunday evening.  He had been in failing health for some time following a paralytic stroke which he suffered two years ago. Mr. McMaken was born 77 years ago, the oldest son of Wilson and Ann McMaken and spent the greater part of his life on a farm west of Piqua. In 1878, he was married to Miss Emma Brading, who survives him, together with one son, Earl, and a grandson, Billy McMaken.  A brother, O. L. McMaken of Piqua also survives him. During his residence near Piqua, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted at the late residence at new Vienna at ten o’clock Wednesday morning.  Burial will take place in the Covington cemetery where burial services will be conducted by Dr. George Brewer at one o’clock.
