HEATH - An aged and infirm woman named Heath, residing on Sycamore street, between Main and Wayne, died, a few days ago, from the effects of a corn growing on the small toe of one of her feet.  She had been suffering for a number of years from the continued encroachments of the corn, and, a short time ago, the toe commenced getting black.  Dr. Gabriel was called in, who recommended amputation of the toe, as the only course to be pursued, which was accordingly done.  The blackness, however, gradually extended to the foot and ankle, causing death, as above mentioned.  Dr. Gabriel gave it as his opinion that the amputation of the leg would not have saved the woman's life.  Truly, a very singular death. -- Piqua Journal.
